Aunties 姨婆

One day, mommy and Josh will swim at the Laus' swimming pool.

Aunties 2 & 4

Auntie 5

Little Josh likes listening to people talking. It's the universal norm for aunties gushing over babies. Now that there are Anson & Joshua for them to cuddle. Every time we visit the Laus, mommy and daddy don't have to worry about little Josh. He has aunties holding him, burping him, and changing diapers for him. Mommy and daddy just relax and enjoy the day!

Meet daddy after work

We met daddy after work at Stanford Shopping Center. Little Josh was too tiny fitting into the infant carrier. The weather was perfect for a walk.

Going Out

I can officially go out after a 1-month stay at home. Thanks my mom, mother-in-law for their frequent visits with homemade food & soup; my sister for bringing in the essential items. I feel well and recovered. Going out even makes me feel better. Little Josh behaves well outside. It takes us longer to get ready before we leave the house now. Stroller, diaper bag, blankets, wipes, extra clothing...etc. My mom, sis, and I managed to take 2 babies out. We had lunch at IHOP and shopped at Michael's. The boys were doing great. They slept and woke at the right times. It was fun but very tiring!

1 Month Celebration

Joshua is one month old. He now weighs 7 lbs 3 oz and is 20 inches tall. He is growing well according to the doctor. His arms and legs are quite strong. We are advised to feed Josh every 3 hours during daytime and let him sleep as long as he wants at night. Josh has been passing a lot of gas lately due to his developing GI tract. The discomfort may lead to his nighttime crying. He should be better after this period.

We had a 1 month dinner to mark the special occasion with family members. Little Josh behaved well and so as Anson. They slept throughout dinner and opened their eyes for picture moments before and after the the meal.

3rd Week

Daddy is back to work this week. Little Josh still has his daytime sleep and nighttime sleep reversed. We are trying to sleep-train Josh but so far he is not making any progress. He usually falls asleep at the end of breastfeeding. He cries and doesn't settle when being placed in the crib awake at night. Mommy is changing more diapers and burping Josh more frequently. Feeding is improving and his little face is getting chubbier and his legs are less bony.

The Names

First Name: Joshua

Ken and I both like a name started with the letter "J". Ethan and Kyle were also in our consideration. Finally, we reached a consensus to name our son, Joshua.

Middle Name: Kyle

We like it with a single syllable. Kyle is a good fit!

Last Name: Tsang

"Luong" is Ken's grandma's last name and it was mistakenly used when his parents brought him to the United States 30 years ago. Ken's family last name is actually "Tsang". We want our son inherit the correct family name. When we send him to Chinese school in the future, he won't get confused!

Chinese Name:
曾康喬

健康的喬木
可靠/強壯/紮實

希望小康喬像他的公公和爸爸一樣。
