Joshua is 10 months old today! He is getting bigger and bigger. Mommy thinks he is over 20 lbs. His pants are getting shorter and feet are bigger. In addition to milk, Josh has been eating more solid food. He has tried different varieties such as string cheese, homemade pork congee, grapes, kiwi, egg yolk, wheat bread, spiral pasta, rice, beef, chicken, etc. Mommy's making baby puree and congee a few times a week. Commercial baby food items are also kept handy for convenience. Ordinary or organic foods are given to Josh. Mommy is slowing down on breastfeeding and she only nurses Josh in the morning. If it goes well, Josh will be weaned before 1 year old. When eating, Josh likes to use his left hand, which is more skillful. Mommy and daddy will be watchful and encourage him to also use his right hand.
Josh is active and fast in motion. He can pull himself to a standing position without holding on something. His legs and thighs are pretty strong to support himself, but he hasn't taken his first steps yet. He has no problem cruising around furniture. He can walk in the house when daddy's holding his hands. Mommy and daddy are patiently waiting for him to walk independently.
Two teeth are fully grown in the lower front. Mommy's wiping/brushing the little teeth twice a day for Josh. He likes it when he is not too sleepy. It is recommended for baby to see a dentist at 18 months. In the meantime mommy has to make sure the teeth are healthy and kept clean.
Joshua's hair is getting longer, especially the sides. Mommy and daddy are planing to take him for a first haircut. He is also getting darker according to Auntie Neslie, who first noticed that. Perhaps the daily ride in the car has given him a tan. Mommy will apply sunscreen on Josh when going outdoor.
Mommy reads to Josh whenever he seems calm. His favorite book is Sesame Street's Bubbles, Bubbles. Every time mommy says bubbles, bubbles, he will look for the book! Sometimes mommy sings his favorite rhymes before bedtime. He likes it and listens happily.
