More blessing!

I received a cute card from Jessica in NYC the other day. It was so sweet of her! It was a surprise to her when we broke the news to her during her visit in February.

Daddy-to-be brought home some sun flowers. We really need the sun to come out at the baby shower this Sunday. Let's hope the sun flowers will do the trick for us!!!

Getting Ready...

The past weekend was very productive. Ken and Henry assembled some baby items such as the rocking chair for nursing, the travel system including the stroller and car seat, and the play yard. All the gifts are sponsored by family members and friends. Thanks Henry, the godfather-to-be of my baby boy for helping out!!! We still have a lot to prepare, but it was a good start for us!

More gatherings

Dim Sum with friends at Mayflower in Union City. It was nice seeing everyone.

Dinner with the Luongs at Anne's place. We were having Korean BBQ with lots of meat grilled by Chris and other yummy dishes prepared by Anne. I had a lot of protein! Thank you very much!!

A Day Trip to Big Bur

Ok, today is Ken's birthday again. We decided to do a road trip to Big Sur. The weather was very nice and we were longing for this getaway. We brought our cooler with snacks, sunscreen, layers of clothing, two cameras, a tripod... It was like going to a picnic in high school! Having breakfast at Panera Bread started our journey...

A 2.5-hour drive to Big Sur Coast.

A 1/4 mile trail leading to the overlook and waterfall.

We hope our baby boy would like the outdoor and ocean as much as we do. I could feel his movements while listening to the waves. He likes it better than classical music!!!

Dinner at Shabuway in Mountain View. Ken's choice.

A piece of strawberry cheesecake ended our day! We were having a very relaxing and wonderful time together.

Celebration

It was Ken's Chinese Birthday yesterday. We dined out at BJ's Brewhouse to celebrate. Anson behaved so well that he woke up in the end for us to take a shot of him. Instead of a cake, Ken was having a triple chocolate pizookie. He also got a "laysee" from my mom and a gift from Anson. I can imagine next year our baby boy will be sitting on his daddy's lap at cake cutting...

Red Egg & Ginger Banquet

Yesterday was Anson's 100th day Red Egg & Ginger Party. Shan and Lik hosted a banquet to mark this special occasion. About 130 guests attended the party.

A&W Root Beer was specially served for Anson Nathan Wong!

Here's my favorite 3/4 face profile (left side) to capture Anson's expression.

Yeah, finally good shots for us!!! Note Anson's first formal and second casual outfits!!!

Another good ones for our family. Anson behaved so well and he was easy to meet 100+ "strangers". He was given 150 points by us all!!!

Baby Kicks

My baby has been kicking all day long. I think he is spinning or doing somersaults inside. Sometimes the kicks are so strong that wake me up in the middle of the night. I could see my tummy bumping up and down when sitting in the couch! I received a kick count worksheet from the OB doc yesterday. The idea is to count 10 movements once daily. The 10 movements should be completed within two hours. I think my boy could easily do that in 10 mins! From the monthly OB appointment, my belly measurement met spec. My baby's heart beat was around 150 bpm. Everything is fine. I will see the doctor every two weeks from now on. As of now I have gained around 20 lbs. I can't imagine how big my tummy would expand in the next 10 weeks. I am doing well physically. Less lower back soreness when I have enough stretching and exercise. My knees are fine. My feet are little swollen but it's normal. I could still wear my wedding band. I usually take a nap to recharge myself after work. I can then stay up to my bedtime around 10 pm.

Ching Ming Festival 清明節

Today is the traditional Chinese Ching Ming Festival. The weather is nice and sunny. The Tsangs along with our relatives visited my dad's grave site to remember and honor him. We brought flowers, tea, wine, pork buns, nuts, and fruits with us. The old and young prayed and sweeped the tomb. We also offered paper accessories and joss sticks, which were kindly provided by my mother-in-law. It was the first time Anson bowed in front of his grandpa's tomb. Ken and I also prayed for my smooth pregnancy and delivery. We wish our son healthy and strong. Paying respect to the departed is important in our culture. We would like to pass this tradition to the next generation.

Homemade Burger

To eat healthier, we have been eating more at home lately. Ken's first attempt to make burger turned out tasty. He marinated the meat and made 4 giant meatballs, pressed and grilled them at low heat setting for 20 minutes. Slices of cheese put on top melted perfectly. We then assembled the burger with lettuce, tomato slices, avocado, grilled onion, mushrooms, peppers and sauce. This time, we used English muffin instead of hamburger bun. Yummy!
