Josh is 1/2 year old! He is 16.1 lbs (25 percentile) and 27 inches (75 percentile). He gained not as much as last time but is growing steadily. According to the pediatrician Josh is tall and flexible with his body. Daddy and mommy watched Josh taking 4 shots and 1 oral dose for immunizations. He was strong and cried out loud a bit taking the shots.
Daddy and mommy were being watchful for two days. Joshua was doing fine. He ate and slept alright. No fever after the shots.
Highlights of 6 months:
Sitting with support
Lifts head higher and supports body longer
Likes being held at standing position
Likes bouncing up and down
Rocking forward/backward at crawling position
More babbling/laughing out loud
Drooling
Takes up to 8.5 oz at once; average 5 oz
4-5 feedings daily
Sleeps through the night consistently
More rolling over
Likes being placed on tummy
Sucking fingers frequently
Mommy keeps up breastfeeding
Josh has been drooling a lot and he has drool rash developed on his cheeks and chin. Mommy was advised to apply Vaseline/thick moisturizer on his face frequently. He also grabs things to put into his mouth a lot. It's very common for baby at this stage. Josh no longer likes rocking on the bouncer. Instead he likes being placed on his tummy, lifting up his head and looking around curiously.
