Joshua is eight months old today! It was like yesterday when I could hold my baby in one arm to nurse him. Time flew and he is now stretching across my lap…
Josh keeps having good appetite and his new record is finishing 10 oz of milk at once. He sleeps well overnight and he is ok being woken by us every morning (6 am; M-F) and during nap time. He sleeps wherever, whenever when going out. It’s getting harder to change him as he likes to flip over at times. Mommy has to distract him by singing his favorite songs like ABC, Twinkle twinkle little star, BINGO, small world…etc. Mommy is never a good singer but Josh admires her. Hahaa… Mommy has to learn more nursing rhymes to soothe Josh.
Josh takes solid food well and he has been trying many fruits/veggie by now. Soon he will have more finger foods such as diced tofu, diced avocado, more cereal snacks, etc. Mommy will start giving Josh yogurt and cottage cheese. By the end of 8 months, he will have a first taste of meat! Josh is sitting his booster chair when dining out with mommy and daddy. He is being trained to sit through the meal. The longest time was two hours so far. Of course cereal snacks and booster toys are the tricks to keep him in the seat. There are good times and cranky times but the ultimate goal is having meal together as a whole family.
Josh is capable of learning. Mommy has taught him “five” (high five) and “錫錫 mama”. When mommy says “five”, he will raise his little hand. When mommy says “錫錫 mama”, he will reach mommy’s face with his hand. Mommy also taught him how to get down from a standing position by first kneeling or sitting down. When mommy reads to him, he pays attention and listens. Mommy is so proud of him!!!
Mommy keeps up breastfeeding even her supply can no longer match Josh’s increasing demand. The goal is still 9 months! In the meantime, Joshua has no problems taking bottle or formula. Hopefully the transition will be ok.
Josh finally has his 1st pair of teeth budding from the lower front!!! He is a little fussier before bedtime. Other than that he has been ok tolerating teething. Mommy gave him the teething ring but he prefers sucking his fingers to relieve the pain. Good job, baby!
